Downtown Tampa Waterfront - Mayor of Downtown Tampa


Tampa is an exciting, vibrant city with many things to do and see. Spring is the perfect season for both visitors and residents to discover all our great city has to offer, particularly outdoors.

A visit to our ever-growing downtown area, or the exciting Channelside and Ybor entertainment districts, will provide you with plenty to see and do. Whether it be relaxing at outdoor cafes, walking along the Riverwalk or taking a stroll along Bayshore Boulevard, it will be evident how much we have put into ensuring a safe and pleasurable environment for all. The Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park and Water Works Park allows residents and visitors to relax, play and enjoy amazing views of Tampa along the Hillsborough River. Overlooking the park and the Riverwalk are the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, Tampa Museum of Art and the Glazer Children's Museum, featuring arts and activities for all ages to enjoy. The newly revitalized Perry Harvey Park will be unveiled this spring, providing additional recreation opportunities to the downtown core.

Specia activities are also scheduled for our in-town area during this time of year including the Annual Gasparilla Music Festival, Gasparilla International Film Festival, Gasparilla Festival of the Arts, Mayor's River O'Green Fest and St. Patrick's Parade, Festa Italiana, Taste of South Tampa, the 5th Annual National Cuban Sandwich Festival, and the Tampa Pride Parade and Festival. Our waterfront area will once again come alive with the Tampa Bay Dragon Boat Races, an exciting event that continues to grow, and the entire community is cheering on the Tampa Bay Lightning as they continue competing in the 2015-2016 season, vying for the opportunity to bring the National Hockey League's Stanley Cup home to Tampa once again this summer.
